One thing that work experience at Impact has shown me is that we really do use the knowledge that we gain at school in the real world. My last day at Impact was full of things that I remember from Cert IV. My day started with a warm greeting from everyone in the office, including Oscar, and moved to assisting in updating the project records from the past year. This was followed by creating an action list for a new event that Impact is beginning, both were broken up by creating a few last additions to the invitation list to an event, all while updating any rsvp's for the event. In all, this day felt a little more like I was doing the work of someone who organises events.
This was to be my last day at Impact Communications so I said my goodbyes to everyone so that I can move on to do other things. I will be working for Lease Equity on the newly acquired shopping centre, Waterford Plaza. I will have the privilege of assisting Cathy in setting up the social network for this shopping centre, and making it more attractive for the local students and residents.
The wonderful thing that I found with this is that I really enjoyed being at Impact Communications and found the people there great and easy to get along with. When I left it was on very good terms with an agreement to cross paths again in the future and help each other out when needed. Meesha was happy for me to do whatever would be in my best interest and said that if I ever need a reference or it doesn't pan out with my current work experience that I will be welcome. By having left on good terms I have given myself the opportunities I need while keeping more contacts for the future. You never know when I might need to call Impact up for an event or some advise with an event, and who knows, once I'm doing this for real maybe they'll be calling me up.
Good opening and good closure...I mean for the owrk experience
